Sleep Your Way Into a Healthier New Year

A New Year, of Sleep

"Sleep is the best meditation" - Dalai Lama

Today starts a new year. It is a time when we reflect on both the year that has passed, and look forward to the new year that is upon us. We also take it upon ourselves at this time to make a new year's resolution.

In 2010, Arianna Huffington, President of The Huffington Post Media Group, challenged women to "sleep their way to the top." Along with Cindi Leive from Glamour Magazine, Huffington encouraged women to get more quality sleep as their New Year's resolution. Click here to read more about their sleep challenge. We at Kensington Furniture agree with Huffington 100%. Sleep Matters!

A suggestion from us would be to restructure your sleeping habits. A great night sleep has been proven to drastically improve your performance both mentally and physically. You can avoid the negative effects of sleep deprivation by simply creating better sleeping habits for yourself. Try to set a regular bed time and wake-up time for yourself. On the weekend, check what time you go to sleep and what time you wake up, naturally, so that you can asses how much sleep your body truly needs to restore itself.

Sleep is the golden ticket to a better life, however, it is severely undervalued. If you are looking to improve one aspect of your life, try to consistently get a good night's sleep. All you need to do is create better habits for yourself and stick with them. Good luck! We here at Kensington Furniture will be right there with you. Happy New Year!
