“The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is
never of any use to oneself.” - Oscar Wilde
In our last bedroom post, we talked about how important it
was to buy bedroom furniture for yourself since your bedroom is your sanctuary. Are you in the market for a new bedroom set? Today we are playing "myth busters" and are disputing the worst advice we've ever heard about buying bedroom furniture!
Make sure that the advice you are given from friends or family is accurate! If they give you advice like the following statements, make sure to tell them that they are mistaken!
Buy what you want on
the first shopping trip. NO! The first shopping trip should be used to see
what sense of style you want for your bedroom. If you are really crunched on
time, make sure you spend more than twenty minutes looking at furniture. Take a
few walks around the store to see if anything sparks your interest. You will be
looking at your bedroom furniture every single day when you wake up and when
you go to bed so make sure it is something that you can live with for a long
time!
Avoid bedroom
packages. NO! Bedroom packages are actually very popular when it comes to
purchasing bedroom furniture. For a discount, you can get a four or five piece bedroom
set. It is the total package, literally!
Be a furniture
hoarder. NO! Maybe it is hard for you to get rid of things in your home. That’s
okay, but don’t overcrowd your bedroom! Make sure you have enough room in your
bedroom for the furniture that you pick out. You don’t want to be stubbing your
toe on your dresser every morning when you wake up!
Stay in the 80's. NO!
Big, bulky, wooden furniture sets were popular in the 80's, but not so much
anymore. There are so many new styles and designs that appeal to every
different customer. We are always encouraging our customers to step out of
their comfort zone when it comes to new designs and styles. However, we still
want to make sure they are 110% sure about their furniture purchase.
It’s quantity not quality.
NO! Furniture is all about QUALITY. You use your bedroom furniture every single
day. You sleep on your bed every night. You put your coffee on your nightstand every
morning. You get your clothes out of your dresser every morning. You use your
mirror to apply your makeup or straighten your tie every morning. It is very
important that you choose a bedroom set that will fit your needs and will last you a
long time.
What is the worst advice you have heard about buying bedroom
furniture?
